The Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum is launching a new digital memory book entitled “People and the Post” this month.
Stories about postal people and events — as told by current and former USPS employees — will be published in the memory book as well as photos, video and audio stories.
Most Americans easily recognize the uniformed letter carrier. Many, however, know little about the majority of postal employees who process and manage their daily mail. “People and the Post” invites employees — current and retired — to share their work-related stories with the general public.
If you have a story you want to tell, go to the Museum’s Memory Book website and click on the “Share Your Story” button. Complete this 3-step process:
- Provide information about who you are.
- Indicate the subject of your story; select a story category.
- Select story type — text, audio, video, and photograph — and enter story.
FAQs and tips for submitting stories are available on the website. Contact the Museum’s Memory Book Team at NPMMemoryBook@si.edu for questions or comments.
