WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today applauded the news that the Toledo Processing & Distribution Center (PD&C) will stay open until at least 2014. Brown spoke by phone with Postmaster General Patrick Donohoe today.
“The Toledo processing center is a vital contributor to Northwest Ohio’s economy, providing critical services to thousands of Ohioans in the Toledo area, from small businesses to seniors. I was pleased to learn today that this plant will remain open until at least 2014 and that roughly 400 critical jobs will be saved. As USPS moves forward with its consolidation plans, I will be fighting to ensure that the Toledo facility will remain open not just until 2014 but in the years to come.”
