Don Derfler says his mail carrier had something to deliver all right but what he left behind was nothing resembling mail.
Derfler was waiting for his babysitter when he saw his mailman acting odd at a neighbor’s house across the street. The postal worker then pulled down his pants.
That’s when Derfler starting snapping pictures. The pictures show the postal worker squatting near some bushes and pulling his pants up. Derfler even photographed what was left behind.
“We trust people like the postal service and meter readers and people of that nature,” said Derfler. “To come on to our property and to defecate – it’s just wrong.”

Im sure the letter carrier would have much preferred a private restroom-unless you have been on a route in a terrible bind you have no idea. It was probably that or go in his pants. Being a letter carrier has many challenges on many different levels and emergency bodily functions is in that category. Give the guy a break. He is an adult that was in a humiliating predicament and did what he had to do. Walk a mile in his shoes managers.
This guy Don Derfler seems to have risen to his level in the bowl!
This man should be commended and promoted. He’ll be the only manager who isn’t full of shit!
When Mother Nature calls, no matter what, one must answer the call. In addition to that, it could be a medical reason as well. I will cite my personal several examples. In about 1997, I was in a South Asian nation. I went to a small town. There were no public restrooms. I had to answer the call for a bowel movement in the afternoon. I rushed to a nearby school. The toilet was run down, broken and filthy and I barely made there.
In about 1974, while I was in the college, I went for training and got sick and constipated. I took medications. At night, I had to run for bowel movement and guess what? It was all over the floor and my clothes and I could not reach the bathroom.
In about 1987, I was traveling in a city bus which made frequent stops. I had severe headache. I was about to throw up in the bus on the passenger. I barely made it to the stop and jumped out the bus and vomited in the street.
So folks, this cannot be a reason to fire someone.
I won,t bore you with how many times I haven’t made it to a rest room or how many restrooms I,ve cleaned up when I almost made it. What is so sad is I’ve always been confronted for the lost time. I chose to keep my personal functions private!
I did this once. It felt right at the time.
I am a letter carrier and believe me there are times when there is just NO place to go when one has to go!!! Not excusing what this carrier did but…it is awful easy for those who have ready access to facilities to condem those that don’t. He should not be fired.
Sometimes the bathroom is just not close enough when you have to go that bad. I think this guy was just pissed at the post office because his dentures were shipped standard post and not priority and he can’t eat his beef jerky. Supervisors have NO idea what it is like because they can get off their cushy chair in the fancy offices and go use their executive toilets. The guy may have not made the right decision but maybe it was the only option at that moment other then going in his pants.
hey when nature calls you gotta go.maybe he was sick or had something bad to eat.its not that big a deal there are more important things to worry about that a single crappy ocassion
I ‘d like to lay a steaming pile right on my a$$hole supervisor’s desk!
Shoulda put ur teeth back in before going on TV!!!
When ya gotta go………..you gotta go.
Bad choice, doo doo on someones yard or deviate off the route.. He will probably be promoted to district manager
