APWU National Officers Say ‘Vote YES!’ On Tentative Agreement

The APWU National Executive Board voted unanimously last week to approve the union’s Tentative Agreement with the Postal Service, and in a video for APWU members, officers working at the organization’s Washington DC headquarters urged members to ‘Vote YES!’

The NEB vote was conducted via a telephone poll.

  1. i will be voteing no did you know management got a 3 percent pay raise and a bonus last year i got nothing 50 mile limit on excessing why don`t you ask someone who has been excessed they just raise the 50 mile limit to 100 then 200 then 300 and however far they need it
as far as the jobs being returned that was won in arb. what two or three years ago and is being grieved. so management dont have to pay on a grievance millions of dollars they can now return our work. how muchof a kickback is the union getting

  2. Everyone get out of uniun. Better too have no commie uniun. Everyone make more and company make more. Dont be fooled by liburels.

  3. this contract is too good. your lucky im not in charge, id be slicin an dicin, you janitors would be gettin minimum wage, clerks a buck more.

  4. Vote NO!! This tentative agreement is a travesty-Moe Biller would roll in
his grave if he saw this ludicrous contract. Vote these misfits Union representatives out of office for selling out to postal managment. Arbitration is a better alternative.Just look at the highlights–no pay increase for 2 years, only 1% afterwards, which would be eroded thru inflation for example. There are no provisions for job security or protections if your bids are abolished

  6. The vagurey of the language concerning the increase in our share of the Health plans premiums needs to be clarified. If our share goes up 12% and we get a 3.5% pay raise over the life of this contract that is a net loss of income. Also, that negotiated increase in health care premiums is on top of any increase levied by the providers themselves during open season.

The AFL-CIO are the same ones screaming in Wisconsin about Governor Walker asking the Public Service workers to pay more in this area and now we have our own Union leadership does this willingly…the HYPOCRISY is breathtaking.

Continuation of COLA – what a joke! This administration has removed the price of gas and food from the formula, that is only way he can keep a straight face when claiming that there is no inflation. Just ask someone on fixed income…no COLA for two years.

If our union backs Obama in 2012 I will terminate my membership on my anniversary date.

  7. NO! NO! NO! This tentative contract is an insult. Let’s go to arbitration and see what we get.

  8. Of course APWU National Officers want us to vote “YES”, because just about everything they accomplished was securing more money for themselves in the Tentative Agreement. APWU membership is slipping fast, and they are slipping into self preservation mode; not to mention their 100% retirement nest eggs they get when they retire from the National APWU. That’s right, read your National Contstitution & Bylaws to read all about it. There wasn’t a damn thing in it for the Clerk, Maint., or MVS that was worth a SH!T! It was all about saving the USPS money and restoring lost membership dues to the National APWU.
THANKS FOR NOTHING GUFFY! BURRASS NEVER SCREWED US, OR NEW EMPLOYEES LIKE THAT!

  9. Just a bunch of Gangstas with their normal hype, taking advantage of those who are duped into believing this garbage!

  10. Well it looks like exactly half of the national maintenance officer’s agree with voting yes to the contract.

  11. Judy Beard, please learn how to speak correct English. The correct word is “specific,” not “pacific” when referring to retirees being able to file greivances for a “specific” reason after they retire. You are an embarrassment.
