A postal service worker was arrested Friday on a racketeering charge and 21 counts of petit theft after she lent United States Postal Service credit cards to friends and family members and accumulated more than $122,590 in fraudulent charges, according to county records.
In a probable-cause affidavit, investigators reported that 43-year-old Patricia Hooks Gillyard of Tallahassee, a USPS highway contract route supplier assigned to the Gainesville area, used the corporate credit cards to pay for fuel and maintenance services for her personal vehicle. She also gave the cards to her two daughters and friends to help them pay for their fuel and other automative-related expenses, the affidavit said.
