The U.S. Postal Service has an “agreement with AT&T Wireless to provide discounted wireless phone service, phones, and accessories to postal employees.” However, whenever Postal Employees order products online at AT & T’s website, the items are shipped via FedEx or UPS. An AT & T representative explained that shipping costs are cheaper using FedEx or UPS.
So let me get this straight, Postal Employees order products from AT & T online and its boosts the shipping volume for its largest competitors? If USPS signs an agreement with a company (which may include shipping) shouldn’t one of the prerequisites be that products are shipped via the U.S. Postal Service?
The USPS also has wireless phone service, phones, and accessories agreements for its employees with Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel Wireless, T-Mobile Wireless and U.S. Cellular. It will be interesting to find out if any of these companies utilize USPS for shipping its products to Postal Employees.
Brace yourself, but the last time APWU had a national election of officers, I didn’t receive my ballot, so I called the number and left the info I was asked to leave, and lo and behold, two days later here came my ballot from APWU, sent overnight thru UPS!!! Swear to God, true story! ‘nuf said!
Is this another way for the PG to give our work away to the competition? This has to be the only CEO that wants to give the business to the competition . Can’t congress and the customers see the what is going on? Does Potter have a job lined up with Fed EX and UPS. Is he getting money on the side? Potter should quit or get fired.
I agree with the first comment. We need the postal subcommittee in Congress to evaluate the leadership of the Postal Service. The recent “Robert Bernstock” scandal where, as a postal vice-president, he was working for other businesses, had his postal employees perform outside work on postal time, and the head postal lawyer, Maryanne Gibbons, covers her ears while speaking with him so she doesn’t hear incriminating evidence??? What kind of organization is this? Then, Maryanne Gibbons, the postal lawyer who supposedly has a law license, states that she thought that there were two sets of rules; one for employees and one for executives. It appears that the employees go to jail for theft, but the executives don’t even get arrested, much less presecuted!
Who is in charge of this farce???????????????
So what’s new? The postal service already has many of our supplies shipped through our competitors. We don’t even ship through ourselves..what a crock! Upper management should hang their heads…disgusting and shameful.
